Store Policy

In order to continue to provide excellent service to our customers and staff, and to remain open and transparent, we are publishing our company policies, in no specific order:

• A non-refundable deposit of 100% is required for all special order items
• Proof of valid scuba certification is required for all scuba gear purchases, rentals, fills and course enrollment
• Course dates and times are subject to change, We will do our best to notify students by email with as much notice as possible 
• Students who do not complete all required self study assignments by the first day of class may be rescheduled to a later course and may be charged a $200.00 rescheduling fee
• For all courses requiring any in water activity, a Medical Statement Participant Record will be sent for each diver to complete. If any question is answered with a YES, that diver or legal guardian is solely responsible to obtain medical clearance from a physician. No exceptions will be made. We recommend completing the Medical Statement Participant Record prior to signing up and paying for a course if you have ANY potential medical issues
• If a course is cancelled by a student for medical reasons, we require a copy of the doctor's recommendations. Unused portions of the course will be refunded. No returns will be made for personal gear (masks, snorkels, fins, boots, wet suits, etc.)
• Participants who do not show up for scheduled courses forfeit all course fees and are subject to a rescheduling fee of up to $200.00
• Participants who cancel courses with notice less than one week will receive a pro-rated refund at management's discretion
• During the COVID-19 pandemic, and for the foreseeable future, courses will not be refunded. A store credit, will be issued and all reasonable attempts to book customers on a future course (within 12 months) will be made.
• Specialty diver insurance is strongly recommended for all divers
• All rental gear is to be returned on the next business day before 5:00pm as specified in the rental agreement
• A cleaning fee of up to $30.00 per item may be assessed for dirty or wet scuba equipment
• Renters returning wet/dry suits contaminated with biological material will be billed up to replacement cost
• Renters (including Open Water students) are responsible for the transportation of their equipment from and back to the shop. A convenience fee may be charged for Rec & Tek SCUBA Inc. professionals to transport gear on their behalf
• Renters (including Open Water students) are responsible for repairs to all equipment damaged while in their possession
• The replacement cost for any lost, stolen or missing equipment is the sole responsibility of the renter and will be charged accordingly
• Renters are responsible to ensure all equipment is correctly sized, tank pressure, gas blends analyzed (where applicable), properly weighted, and in good working order
• Late Rental Returns will be charged on a per day basis until returned.
• We do not rent scuba equipment to non-divers
• In order to fill any scuba tanks, we only accept current visual inspection stickers from retail dive operators. Tanks must be in current hydro. There are no exceptions
• In the interest of safety and maximizing the customer experience for all, Rec & Tek SCUBA Inc. reserves the right to informally/formally evaluate the skills of any diver participating in in-water activities and make recommendations based on their demonstrated abilities. An appropriate fee may be charged on a case-by-case basis
• A 20% restocking fee will be charged for the return of new, UNUSED purchased items, in their original retail packaging at the discretion of management. Some special order products may be final sale and not eligible for return
• Refunds will be tendered using original method of purchase
• Any service items unclaimed after 60 days will be assessed a storage fee. Any service items unclaimed after 6 months will become the property of Rec & Tek SCUBA Inc.
• Trip/Event Waivers must be completed 48 hours prior to published start of trip/event. If not completed, participants will forfeit their space and any monies paid
